Pacific Jamboree 2024 announces expanded Participant capacity and the reopening of Participant registration
January 22, 2024 – Due to the overwhelming demand for Participant registrations at Pacific Jamboree 2024, the Camp Chair and Organizing Committee are excited to announce additional registration capacity for Participant Patrols. With this added capacity comes a fourth Participant Subcamp.
The PJ 2024 Organizing Committee was overwhelmed with the fantastic response to registration and has since been working hard behind the scenes organizing everything to make the jamboree a success. The committee realized many Scouts from across BC, Canada, and the world were disappointed when they were unable to secure a spot, and the waitlist quickly grew. After some careful deliberation and additional planning, the decision was made to open a fourth Participant Subcamp to allow additional Scouts to attend PJ 2024.
Registration will reopen on February 1, 2024, at pacificjamboree.ca. A total of 50 Patrol spaces, or 500 individual spaces, will be made available. When either maximum is reached, registration will close, and a limited waitlist may be formed.
Patrols currently on the waitlist will be contacted by the PJ 2024 registration team with the next steps in completing their Patrol’s registration.
Please note, this registration opening is for new Patrols only. All requests to add members to existing patrols will be denied.
Be sure to keep an eye on pacificjamboree.ca for the latest information and to access the registration portal.
Behind the scenes, the PJ 2024 Organizing Committee and all departments are working quickly and efficiently to bring all aspects of the jamboree together. This includes the Program team working to increase capacity for the additional Participants.
The PJ 2024 Organizing Committee appreciates the incredible interest in the jamboree and appreciates your continued patience as we work through this unprecedented Pacific Jamboree growth.
Questions regarding the additional Patrol spaces can be directed to the PJ 2024 Camp Chair, Andrew Dallas at adallas@scouts.ca.
160 Patrols have registered for PJ 2024 in the first 24 hours!
October 3, 2023 – This clearly shows a demand for Jamborees in BC and Canada, a demand no one on the PJ steering committee could have predicted. While the entire PJ team is working hard and as quickly as possible, this fantastic influx of Patrol registrations has overwhelmed what we are capable of processing in a timely fashion. Our volunteer registration team, plus members from other departments, are working quite literally day and night to get Patrols confirmed and emails sent to contact Scouters. Please understand there will be a longer than anticipated delay to get the registration confirmation process completed for each Patrol. We ask you kindly refrain from emailing our registration team with status inquiries as this will only slow the process for everyone.
For those wondering whether their registration form was accepted, please check your email and junk folder for an initial registration received email. PJ 2024 registration is working on a first-come-first-served basis, and all Patrol registrations will be looked at in this way. As of now, October 3, 2023, PJ 2024 does still have participant capacity.
We are working with our registration site developer to make improvements to the site moving forward, and you should notice these improvements over the coming days.
Lastly, when messaging any of our PJ volunteers, please continue to practice kindness.
We appreciate your patience and eagerness to attend PJ!
Registration for PJ 2024 will open on October 2, 2023
September 26, 2023 – Hello to all the Scouts Canada and beyond members who are planning to attend Pacific Jamboree 2024. Registration opening will be delayed three (3) days and will open for you all to begin your adventure on October 2, 2023.
The system has encountered a delay out of our normal control and we at PJ24 want to have every confidence that the information you supply is recorded and filed with all the efficiency and safety possible. I apologize in advance to each and every one of you for the delay and stress this may have caused.
